sorry I did leave that part out, the difference becomes greater and greater in higher powered cars. In a 350/350 car, the difference would be ~2/10, as opposed to mine which likely make a 4/10 difference and in 700/700 cars it would likely make a near full second difference

Most probably buy a manual shift car so their wife can't drive it. j/k Hey it's not like we have Dyna flows in these cars!

My new position doesn't afford me the cash that I had before. Temporary, but eventually I will run the 4r70w and bracket race in the 10s.

Old video from almost 2 years ago. Car bracket racing with the 4r.

Short vid of car launching with the 4r70w. First part of vid boost is 11 lbs, middle is 16 lbs, last part is 22 lbs.

Sold the 4r to a mate recently (we went 2 speed powerglide). With a new tune and 21 lbs boost, he dropped from previous best of 11.8 to 10.3, launching off idle on pump gas

Not bad for an automatic...lol

yea i get grief for having an automatic in my 10, though a 5/6 speed manual is nice its not nice having to drop a trannie to replace a slave unit when they crap out after the warranty goes out. my 73 mach1 351v4 has a c6 with a cheetah manual valve body and i can shift and burn in all gears if i want to. dont get me wrong i love manuals but i perfer autos. pros and cons to both. at least with a manual you can always push start a car..lol

the 68 frankenstang project will be a 5 speed though =)

Kidding aside for a moment, what is it with all these women who can't/don't/won't drive a car with a MT?

My Mom drove stick until she was well into her 40's. So did her sister. My wife has driven MT almost exclusively since about 1972, and our 30-something daughter still does when she has to borrow one of our cars.

A comment coming from my wife a few years back went something like
"It's automatic only? Then we don't want it.".
I am not making that up, and yes, I know I'm well off.

I bought my wife an A4 back in 05, and she would not look at the ones with an automatic. She said 6 spd or nothing. Awesome!

there are men who can't drive stick... my mom taught my dad how to drive a manual when they got married. My mom drove a stick up until 2004 when she couldn't find the car she wanted in a stick and settled for an auto. I'm a guy and my first car was a jetta which was a 5 speed. I would say though there are a lot more and growing each year of people that don't know how to drive sticks MEN AND WOMEN. So its not fair to just say women don't know because it may not be equal but there are many men who don't know either
