Default So I've got a 2011 5.0 for the next few days...

Doing some tests at work, and the test vehicle assigned to me is a 2011 5.0 (in a 2010 torch red body... saves on camo I guess). Pretty impressive so far (despite being an automatic), though I'm not sure there's that much of a difference in feel as to where I'd instantly trade in my 2010 for it.

...though my 2010 is in storage for the winter, so it's hard to do a direct comparison.

Will post more in the next few days as I drive it more.

Have I mentioned how much I love my job?

Man, you want to get me a job when I get out of college?

Congrats, though, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I'm jealous.

I hate you thoroughly right now...my 2010 hasn't even been delivered yet... =(

But that is pretty awesome that you get to do testing on it.

What's the difference in the body besides the badging?

Keep us posted. Too bad you can't do some side-by-side comparison.

BTW, I hate your guts, too... but in a very good way. Congrats on the job perk!

Sweet. Interesting that the 5.0 didn't blow you away. I have sort of wondered about the possibility of a little 'positive' rating on the HP coupled with what seems to be a slight underrating on the 4.6 given the dynos we've seen.

BTW, can you ask around and find out if they are going to offer the front splitter on the Indy Pace car for sale? I have fallen in love!

Yeah, and I'm big time jealous of anyone who gets to design Mustangs.

What I find interesting is that testing is still taking place on the 5.0 engine.

Curious to hear more on why you're not sure if there is much difference in feel between the 2010 and 2011, or if your opinion changes. When are you taking your 2010 out of storage for a more direct comparison?
