Default Exhaust and H pipe

I am having Flowmaster axlebacks installed next week. I also want to get an off road H pipe in the future and long tube headers eventually. My question is if I get the flows installed at a muffler shop can I bolt on the H pipe myself. I was considering this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-640726/. Does the brand really matter when it comes to H Pipes? Also will the Flowmasters and Off Road H require a tune other than to turn off the O2 scensors?

Brand doesn't really matter when it comes to H pipes. You should be able to put the flows on yourself, even w/o a ramp or lift. You just need a few sockets. Flowmasters and O/R is a good combo, but just beware that you will get some trumpeting or blaring sound at certain RPMS.

What do you mean "trumepeting" or "blaring"?

It's this blaring sound that you will hear when you go med to full throttle at around 2500 RPMs. Post #19 in this thread has video.

? Having axlebacks installed? Huh, I know the brand makes a difference if you're talking quality. My pypes o/r h fitment was trash. The o/r h wasn't an easy install at all. A lift and shop would make it much easier, but it is still pretty time consuming. The o/r pipes do give a trumpet sound to many different muffler types.

flowmasters and X pipe, not a good combo in my opinion.. trumpiting is bad with the x.. H's, i like more.. You can install your flows yourself.. should take about 15-20min.. The H, i have no idea on.. hope thats some insite.. blah..

What will the leak cause? Is it something that cant happen or will it be ok with a small leak?

Also will I need a tune?

I have the pypes off road H and flowmasters. The H-pipe was an easy install (this was before I had my headers). Once I installed the BBK L/T's, I had to have the H-pipe modified to work, no biggie though.

You will get a lot of trumpeting between 2,500 and 3,000 RPMS with the flows and an off-road pipe. I had two 10" resonators installed just in front of the rear axle and it got rid of that sound.

a leak down by the h- pipe wont really hurt anything, It will just have an annoying ticking sound and dirty up the underside of the car.

If the leak is up near the manifolds or heads it can bend a valve but that is a rare scenario.
