Default Crazy to buy a 2010 GT instead of pre-ordering a 2011 5.0?

There are just some insane deals on the 2010 GT's left on dealer lots right now. I also have the $750 Ford Brochure coupon and I know Ford is offering 0% financing as well.

I know the 5.0 is going to be fantastic, but is it worth a 5-6k bump over the 2010? These numbers are assuming that Ford doesn't offer much in the way of incentives for awhile on the 5.0.

I would be stoked to have a 2010 GT. Plus, the 5.0's are probably going to have dealer markups for a while and no deals. Besides,

2011 5.0 - 2010 GT = moar mod moneys

I purchased my 2010 GT about two weeks ago, took advantage of all the rebates that Ford is offering, and haven't looked back. I agree with thedarkside, Ford will probably have a nice markup on the 5.0's with no deals and no negotiating.

Personally, the 315hp/325tq that the 4.6L provides is more than enough for me. If (when) I get the urge for more, a few mods will take care of that. The only downfall with the 2010 is the 5 speed instead of a 6 speed.

Must you buy new? If saving $ is such a big deal why not find a low mileage used '10 or 05-09?

Nope, no big reason for me to buy new, but I want the 2010+ body style. The few that are around here aren't going for much less than the new ones with all the incentives.

We're lucky to have a good Ford dealer around here who is selling the 5.0 on pre-order for a base price of $28,652, which is pretty decent. Still, nothing compared to the incentives Ford is offering at the moment on the 2010.

It's your call though...
I mean, how fast do you really want to go?
The first year of the 5.0 might have some bugs in it and the 2010 has all of this worked out.
So if buying a 2010 and supercharging it is cheaper than the 5.0 will be, then go that route.
If not, wait a little bit more for the 2011.

As a side note, my local dealer here will not mark up the new models and I'm sure that they won't be the only ones in the Country.
Check with your local Ford about mark ups...

Good luck and welcome to the Forums.

Actually just got an email from my dealer. With my coupon and Ford incentives my price on a base 2010 GT 5-speed with Red Candy Metallic CC would be $24,002.

That's...pretty incredible.

See DarkCandy08GT's post. He ordered his '11 $300 under invoice.
