I'm thinking of running 275/45/18 or 285/40/18 or 295/45/18's on all four wheels.
Has anyone done this and if so what was the result? Especially how was steering and were there any interference problems with the front tires?

275/40/18's all around on stock suspension. You can fit a small child in the tire wells. I'd consider lowering but it's not high on my priority list at the moment.
If I had to do it again, I'd put 255's up front. The 275's are stable as hell but they'll tramline pretty bad on roads that have deep ruts from heavy truck traffic. But overall, it feels very good.

I'd be concerned with the weight of those 45 series. Tires aren't light and encompass about 1/2 the rotational weight (depending on size) of the wheel/tire combination. I've run 305/35-18 drag radials (heavy, soft sidewall and they wore out super quick) to 275 front and 285/40-18 rear Nitto NT555's (heavy, hard/no traction and sidewall stiffness left something to be desired). Those were wearing out so said I decided on Nitto NT05's in 275/40-18 size all the way around. Now I can rotate front/rear and they're inexpensive enough to swap out when the sticky rubber wears down. They grip way better than the NT555 in 285/40 size and by going with 275/40 on all fours handling improved as well. FWIW, I would have gone 285/40 all four (it would have fit) but they don't make an NT05 in that size.
Damn...I just went back and looked at your signature. Scratch everything I just said, you can run any tire you want with that much HP! The NT05's are still a good choice. I think they make a 295/45 for the rear ;-).

Some great pics of 295/45 in this thread. Most folks match them with 275/40's up front. A bit tall of a tire to run up front IMO.

Thanks for the responses. I should clarify some. I recently purchased a set of GT500 takeoff wheels with F1 supercar tires in 285/40 and 255/45. I have someone local who wants to buy the tires. They are kinda noisy, wet traction isn't as good as my old kdw's and I'd just as soon get something else. I found 275/45/18 F1 GS D3 tires for a real good price. I'm also considering Hankook Ventus evo and Nitto 555's. I like the idea of 4 tires the same size.

Ah, that clears it up a bit. It's my guess that if you think the F1's are noisy you will hate the Ventus'. Of those you mentioned I would be inclined to go with the GS D3's. Those KDW's you had are great tires. I ran a set of KDW2's and loved them.
Not sure how much the GY's are but I picked up my 275/40 Nitto NT05's for 204.00 ea shipped...

This was one of the hardest decisions I've made regarding my Mustang.
I just ordered four 275/40/18 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 tires. Every review and forum post I read was positive. Low noise, great wet and dry traction. I'll know for sure soon enough.

I know just how you feel. After going through several different sizes/brands of tires I settled on 275/40 all-round and am happy with it. The staggered setup looks good but the 275/40's on all four works better. If you don't like em' pull them off, sell them on craigslist, return some investment and experiment some more. I have a full set of Sumitomo HTRZIII's in the garage because every time I rash a steeda rim and order a replacement I have them mount up a cheap sumitomo. I've found you can never have too many spare tires...well maybe you can but it makes me rest easier to have an extra set on-hand.
