Default Short throw shifter question

I want to get a short throw shifter. How difficult is the install? Is it a simple bolt on or do you need to go into the tranny?

You dont have to get into the tranny at all. Simple bolt in, not hard at all

I did it with one arm in a cast makes it made it easy if you can get the car up a ways and if you have someone holding it up when bolting it in. I used the Hurst (billet)everything went well and came with step by step insrtuctions

First off, you do not have to drop your drive shaft. I did my Hurst by myself in an hour, start to finish. You need a good set of ramps and if you want lots of room to work, put the rear up on jack stands.

On a difficulty scale of 1-10 with 10 being hardest I would call this a 3 at most.

It's a few bolts in a semi awkward postition. Hardest part for me was getting the shifter in the hole, it just wouldn't fit (hurst billet). I think my one piece shaft had something to do with it.

The Hurst shifter is my next mod. Waiting on my tax return, then its surfing the net to find the best deal. Anyone know who has the best deal or are they all within about $10 of each other?
