I install one of this onto my car yesterday. The other main difference with the new one is that the link arm(rod), is not sent as a separate piece. I end up taking off the shifter adjuster box to get it to fit and it took a very long time. There are hex bot to take off the link arm(rod), but i wasn't sure if I should. I am a little mad a MGW for not giving me instructions on how to install this new shifter. I would have made things a lot easier. I was happy that I paid 50 less for the shifter
No offense, but that means SO LITTLE coming from someone who doesn't OWN the product... I've been living with a Hurst for 2 years! BELIEVE ME... lock-tite won't fix it! Comment only if you have ACTUAL experience PLEASE...
Well I have no experience with the MGW shifter, But I can say that the NEW Hurst does not rattle. I installed the NEW Hurst in my car 4 months ago by myself. And it has never made any noise. I'm talking about the Hurst short throw shifter that is made from a solid piece of Aluminum. Also it has the word "Hurst" machine engraved in the Aluminum and it looks race-modified from underneath the car.
Sorry for such a large pic. but all I got is a stupid sony.
