Default My First MOD. Homelink Installation ...

My other Mustang had a HomeLink Mirror ... I really missed that in my new Mustang. Even though Ford shows a Picture of the HomeLink being included with the Comfort Package ... it is no included. I modded a $20 module I got from eBay and installed it in the domelight. Work perfectly and I can once again open my garage door from inside the Mustang. Uhhh ... why didn't Ford think of this?

Excellent! I have a garage door opener taped up there and it looks...well, it's stealthy enough. But this is much better. Got a link to the ebay seller?

Awesome job! For future reference can you let us know which wire(s) you tapped into to power it?

Here is the Auction I won .....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_735wt_1152

I doubt this will work if you have Security Package since there may be more crap inside the domelight. I don't have Security Package.

It's pretty obvious what to tap .... Use the Black Ground out of one of the lights and tap the Yellow power coming off one of the switches that goes into the main harness .. that way it always has power.

This just might be my next non-performance mod. I can't find a remote that will stay on the visor without being taped or pinned....

Thanks for the link, just bought one. This is cheaper than buying a new remote and looks 1000 times better. Great idea!

So we need the "non-rolling Code" model correct??

Good job, I don't see why ford didn't just include the mirror with the home links buttons.

Depends on your garage door opener. Mine was installed when my house was built in 1991 so it is a non-rolling opener. Newer openers may need one that supports rolling code.

What did you use to cut the hole? Dremel? Does it snap in?
