Yes, sandwich adapter and thicker oil. Also going to try a different coolant since I have an iron block.

i'd like to see the stock oil temperature sensor get wired
up. also exactly what you are doing, getting the
adaptor out while troubleshooting this.

Oh yeah, it's the oil temp/level sensor in the oil pan. I don't think it has an important role. I know at least 6 people not using it. The problem is that when I got rid of my oil pan I left my sensor on it not htinking. Well that sensor is $70. Now with the new oil pan, the sensor is from an 06 which my harness won't plug into. So what I have is that harness coming and I will beable to solder into my harness and plug it into the sensor. (Does that make sense?)

that makes perfect sense.

reason i asked is, i just wonder what the pcm is doing
with the circuit status as it is. does it think the oil is cold
or off the charts hot. hopefully worse case is it may only
be affecting ignition timing.

yeah, not sure at all. I am not sure if it's a temp sensor, or just a level sensor. There is engine code that I have gotten a couple times from it. I don't remember the code though...

Any updates? I'm curious to see what your oil temp is getting to. I think that anything in the 220-240 range would be typical depending on your climate and how heavy your foot is.
