Default Bolt Pattern Question

This may be a stupid question but here goes.......

Will a wheel with a 5 x 115 (5 x 4.53) fit my car, which has a 5 x 114.3 (5 x 4.5) bolt pattern?

I bought some factory SVT wheels and the bolt pattern is 5 x 115. The wheels I currently have a bolt pattern of 5 x 114.3

Am I good to go or will I have issues running these? It seems close but you never know.

These were advertised to fit all of the newer Mustangs so I don't "think" I'll have issues, but would like to hear from someone who knows for sure.

They should fit. However you're leaving a .7mm difference which may not be safe.

I'd give a good wheel/tire shop (tirerack,etc) a call about it before buying them to see what the danger would be (if any) before you buy them.

Edit: Just found a post by someone at tire rack on this issue on toyota forum...

Another 5x115 vs. 5x114.3 bolt pattern question. Yes I searched. Please read...
I have a set of rims that I used to use on my old car, with a 5x115 bolt pattern. I test fitted them on my Camry, and they appeared to fit. The issue is more with the center bore/hubcentric ring. The hole for the center bore is too big, and the hub-centric ring does nothing to keep the rim centered. It appeared to be centered via the lug nuts, but to the naked eye, and who knows how accurate that is. Does anyone know if this is a safe setup? I'd hate to invest in tires and have them not be able to be centered on the hub. I emailed Tirerack (where I got the rims) but have heard nothing back. The rims are the ASA JS-5's, which come in a multitude of bolt patterns. I'm just wondering if the 114's and the 115's are actually the same rim. Anyone actually make a successful 114-115 blot pattern rim swap?

And yes I did do a search, but the answers to different posts conflicted with one-another.

We always use 115 on 115 cars and 114 on 114 cars and don't recommend interchanging between the two. Send me a message with your contact information and I can look at your previous order if you want to discuss the specific wheel that you have. Thanks

Thanks for the response! I've known several people who've switched to those wheels, but have never seen anyone bring up that question before. I'm going to give them a shot because I've been told that they'll fit just fine. We shall see, but you'd think that factory Mustang wheels would fit onto a Mustang right? Granted, mine is a 2010 V6 and the wheels I'm buying are for the 2005-2009 GT500, but there really shouldn't be a difference right?

I can't say for sure man, just did a little google action. I'd definitely call first so you're not out the cash if it doesn't.

I already ordered them and they're getting delivered today. I'll let you know, but seriously, how would these be any different than the rest of the 2005+ wheels that come off one mustang and put on another? am i missing something here?

If they are factory SVT mustang wheels then they are 5x4.5 which is 5x114.3. They didn't make any of the mustangs a 5x115 bolt pattern not even the SVT's. I would not swap the bolt patterns cause you are gonna have excessive pressure on the studs and could have the studs breaking while driving. I work for a wheel company and we have seen this happen numerous times. If someone calls us and wants us to sell them wheels but are gonna swap bolt patterns like this we4 will not sell them the wheels due to liability.

Thanks man! I think the description on Ebay was wrong. I had the wheels installed today and they fit perfectly. They look awesome too

They are definitely the factory wheels so they have to be 114 since they fit so perfectly.
