WOOT a 5.8L
I did the math some time ago and if the same bore/stroke addition was done to the 5.4 that turns the 4.6to5.0 then the 5.4 would become a 5.8

maybe see if you can get a 5.8 badge
I want to do this too someday

http://www.fordf150.net/specs/engines.php
Remember 5.4L=331ci
331/8=41.375ci per cylinder
Bore/Stroke 3.55 X 4.16
3.55in=diameter, 4.16in=hight
3.14*R^2*H (or pi*.5bore^2*Stroke)
Volume 41.1756
then change the bore for the bore of the 5.0

so if you use a 3.7in bore instead of the 3.55
pi*((.5*3.7)^2)*4.16*8*0.01638706(cui-to-liter)=5.86378Liters

Plus, they're cheaper to buy.

Get the correct engine son, we already talked about that before...
im actually looking, but i cant find any navigator motors, i would definatley wait a while to see if one turns up since this would be a long process to begin with anyways i can take my time with the search. do you know if the hp tq is any diff from the navi 5.4 to the expidition since the navi is a 4V?

See if you can grab a wrecked Navi with the 5.4 4v.

Then you could park it next to the car and pick 'n pull as needed.

Can the 4v use the cams from the 4.6 4v? That would be pretty wicked. Grab some 01 Cobra cams

Thats a lot of work to put a much heavier engine that makes basically the same power.
My 1999 Navi Intech 4V had very poor low end.

Are you going to go for making it a 5.8?

there is potential there...but you'd still have to source all the other crap and that would add up to alot of $$$ quickly

your best bet really is to grab a wrecked Navi. See if they'll let you have the carcass until the swap is done, then you return what is left. I'm sure you can work a deal to cut costs....perhaps give your v-6 as a core charge?

Ya go check a salvage yard I doubt you'll get everything from an ebay add 9I would think an ebay seller would try to get maximum value where as a salvage yard it would mean one engine they don't have to pull

I'd get the GTO.

Keep your current car as a reliable DD and have the GTO as the power monster. Makes a lot more sense.

Yep, 260 hp and 345 torque for 99 only.
2000/03 was bumped up to just about what the 3V is now: 300hp/ 355tq.
The 3V has the same horsepower with 365tq.
But the 4V has the potential because of the quad cams.
