Default Repairing/replacing glassroof

Hey guys,

A rock somehow ended up hitting my glassroof and left a crack. Glass repair shop tried to fill in the crack but couldn't.

Has anyone ever had a glassroof crack repaired, or the whole glassroof replaced? The glass repair place don't want to replace it, so my next move would be to take it to a body shop.

Anyone here had a similar problem?

This won't help answer your question, but can you post a picture of the crack?

How does a rock hit the roof with enough force to crack it? Windshield I understand, but a roof? Sorry I cant help ya. Seems that glass roof should be way stronger.

Did you ask Ford? They might warranty it.

If not, isnt it curved and everything? Gonna be expensive.

see if you can claim it through your insurance company. it might fall under the windshield category.

I would think it would be covered under the warranty.

I don't see why it would be covered under warranty by Ford, it was not a manufacturing defect. Ford never advertised the glass as being unbreakable.

Anyway, the insurance came through and covered the replacement of the glass minus the deductible

The average body shop cant touch the job.
You need a really good glass replacement service place.
PasCal, would you even touch the job or refer them to an automotive
glass replacement service center?

Would think he parked near a building and someone threw a rock down and hit it... only way I could see this happening.
