Why buy a GT500 over 5.0?
Most magazines rate the 5.0 as pretty much .1 slower in 0-60 and in 1/4, so what's the point of spending alot more on a GT500 when slightly modded 5.0 can be alot faster...

Because a slightly modded GT500 will destroy the slightly modded 5.0.
And let's not talk about the holding value difference between the 2 cars...

The GT500 has way more room to grow. There's also more to a car than it's 1/4 time.

And a 0-60 time, too.
Forged internals + a bigger motor means it can handle a whole hell of a lot.

This.
Plus. Put drag radials on both cars and the GT500 will really stretch it's legs. Bye-bye new 5.0.
The GT500 is even more hamstrung by the stock suspension/tires than the 5.0 is.
Oh, and the transmission and clutch in the GT500 will probably hold more power than the new GT.

a used gt500 can be found for around $36k and a new 5.0 is gonna cost just about the same. also the gt500 is going to hold its value MUCH better than a 5.0.
