Do you know if it is a stock H pipe or off road? (The stock is catted and made of stainless steel, the off road is not)
I like the factory mufflers with off road H, really good loud sound. If you have the O/R pipe then you could pick up a set of GT take off mufflers off of ebay for cheap, and save a few pounds off of the stock setup.

just check on ebay for some resonators..they're super cheap. you can get the pypes m80 mufflers for like 82.00 and let them work as a resonators. i can completely understand what you're going thru. i had went in circles for like a couple yrs over trying to get rid of the rasp...where the muffler is so far back behind the axles is whats causing it. if ford had put mif mufflers on these cars they would sound like a beast.
