Default My 06 Hood is Bubbling and Chippin

I am at my wits end...the paint on the hood looks horrible bubbling and chipping away on my 06 GT.

Ford doesn't care...dealer won't do anything, because FORD doesn't care. I don't want to invest in paint or new NON-ALUMINUM hood BUT it's getting worse.

I tried to complain to FORD..fell on deaf ears. They are sorry I am not happy with FORD.

Anybody have any ideas. Can we all band together and force FORD to answer this complaint?

I'm terrible upset!

This is a known issue.

My suggestion is take it to another dealership or call the 1 800 customer service number.

No guarantees but if you have only tried one option those are two others you can try.

Default Tried

Tried dealership..and 800 # - then 800 # called back to dealership..it's a no-win situation. I may try like one of those News ABC 7 on you Side local complaints. I now know its a KNOWN PROBLEM so hopefully lots of complaining over and over and over by everyone that has the problem to the FORD 800 # - the will eventually help us!

They want no parts of it. I'm probably gonna have to get an aftermarket hood at some point

Yep, you have the TSB 06-25-15. The only way we can get Ford to fix it at their cost is for your car to still be under warranty. I know it sucks, but right now there is no other way.

I made a post about it back in Dec.;

Did you notice the problem when you are was still under warranty? If you are beyond the 3 yr/36K mile warranty your Dealer can not get paid for the repair from Ford Corporate. They will deny a free repair.

The 5 year corrosion warranty says it has to be rusted through (able to see through the metal) to get it repaired. Ford was smart about the corrosion warranty. No car will have a see through hole in less than 5 years. Nice one Ford!

There is a guy who is trying to take Ford to court for the TSB leaking problem. Contact him and see if he can help with this TSB problem too;

My hood just recently started doing this after 4 years. I'm planning on either repainting it (and probably the whole car while I'm at it) or doing an aftermarket hood. My wife's Nissan has paint issues too, so it's not just Ford. They just don't do paint work on production cars like they used to. My 98 Mustang never had the chipping issue that my 05 has. I guess it doesn't bother me as much as the creaking and groaning that my aftermarket suspension is causing out back. Now THAT'S aggravating........but my own fault I suppose.
