Default OEM HID Auto feature

A general question about my new 2011 and the OEM HID's. I have set my HID to auto - and I park in a parking garage every day. So every day when I pull in, they naturally come on while I make my way to my parking spot. Is this hard on them ? I guess it is the same as turning them on to drive home at night but I always wonder if I should turn off that Auto function, to save that extra every day turn on for a short period of time. Am I over analyzing this one? What is the life span of a HID?

If you really wanna get nit picky I suppose you could turn it off...but seriously it's not going to make a difference that you will notice...ever.
