In my 2010 I had a noise coming from the rearend once the car was warmed up and took it into them but they said they didn't hear it at first. So what I did was bring it back to them and requested a tech (preferrably shop foreman) to go on a ride with me. He did and it ended up being the axle bearing on the passenger side was bad so they replaced all the bearings in the rearend. Any type of noise related issues make someone come out to the car and duplicate it with them there then you have no excuses.

If it is a grinding high pitch whine while turning at low speeds, you need to add some Ford friction modifier to the differential. Probably best to replace the fluid and add the modifier then to make sure. My 4th gen Camaros required this every 6 months or so.

Cheers.

Thanks I will go in and have the guy go with and see if that is what he says. How many miles did you have and does this sound like the same issue you were having?

Again, mine's a very low "whooomp, whoooomp, whoooomp" when turning right mostly. definitely sounds like it's coming from the passenger side rear.

I had heard the noise from the day I drove the car off the lot. They finally warrantied everything when i had 800 miles on the car. The sound I was getting was more of a grinding sound and it was very noticable when turning to the right for some reason, but it was a sound I heard all the time even when going straight.

I have the same whine while turning at slow speeds. There is a TSB for this and it also applies to the 2010 year. I went to the dealer and they heard it.... parts on order. Hope this fixes it.

Oh really? When I took this to my Ford Dealership they stated that they heard the noise so they contacted Ford regarding this issues (said they have not heard of it before I brought mine in) and they were told that this amount of noise is normal for a track pack / 3.73 rear-end car.

I also wanted to note that this noise is getting worse and worse. I am now hearing a similar noise from the rear end upon deceleration. I will be taking the car to the dealership soon (before the snow starts falling since it gets garaged until spring at that point) with this TSB in hand.
