GT CS a specialty Mustang?
#11
Begs the question on what's viewed as a "specialty" Mustang. The SVT & Mach 1 cars have different VIN #s than regular production Mustangs(digit where the engine code is), all the others you mentioned(Saleens, Roushs, Shelby GTs) are all serialized(beyond the Mustang GT VIN they are based on) and merit special status. As for the Bullitts & GT/CSs I'm pretty sure they deserve to be distinguished from the "regular" GT models as they have enough unique features to set them clearly apart IMO.

(as small as they may be)
Begs the attention and the asking of what the new BOSS is really gonna offer.
A real kick in the pants difference or a kick in the nuts for enthusiasts.

No, I don't think the CS/GT should be considered a "specialty mustang". It is an upgrade, much like the premium package is an upgrade. No automaker or designer is responsible for the creation of the package, but FORD. While the cars are very nice to look at, I think putting them in a specialty mustang category isn't an accurate depiction of what it really is.

Ford is offering certificates of authenticity for limited production models. It came straight from Ford and is signed by Edsel Ford the second.
Try a google on Ford Performance group. I got the link through a gt/cs owners group.

GT/CS cars were only limited by the amount of orders Ford received ... there was no set number was there?
I don't think a car should be considered special by a manufacturer (or consumer) unless it is somehow distinguished by a special VIN ....
