Mmm, tough break. I had an NX plate kit which I sold after adding up all the items to run it safely including the window switch, bottle opener, heater etc etc. It was getting close to another several hundred over the cost of the basic kit which was $800. Wish I had held onto it because I'd have all that stuff by now. I still may install a kit in the future but I'll be sure to have a window switch. A lot of guys told me it wasn't required but I didn't feel good about running without it.

Seems an awful lot of work dropping a 4.6 into the 6'er setup. tranny, clutch (if you're a man), wiring, fuel system, driveshaft, the list is endless.
Best thing to do is get the 6'er fixed somehow and either go easy on the spray or ditch it and buy what it sounds like you should have bought in the first place.

Gotta love fraud. As long as you're going down that path, why not just set the whole thing on fire and get a brand new car?

Has anyone looked into swapping the 3.7 V6 in the '05-'09 yet? I can't imagine anyone has done it yet but I'm still curious to hard hard it is/if it's possible

I have no intention of being anyones judge or jury, yet I am more than a little surprised (ok, appalled is closer) that someone who has a badge (that at the very least suggests they are some part of law enforcement) in their signature is actually considering taking this sort of route to fix engine damage that he has admitted was completely his fault.

If I cant afford to (or dont want to) pay for damage I was to possibly do to my car or engine at a drag strip, then I wouldnt take it there. Whether someone can 'hook me up to get free repairs' or not.

They're going to look at the soot and char marks on the piston that detonated, look at the curiously recently reset computer, and tell this dude to gtfo.

Rod or piston damage. Either one will be easy to see natural aspiration wasn't the cause.

damn, that sucks.. but outstanding numbers with only 320ish whp

I got my 07 motor online for about $1,800.. got a tech over at the shop help me get it all set up. The 4.6 is sold at a decent price, though you have to be careful where you get them...
