Door panel insert repair/replace
My car has survived 4 super hot summers down here in southeast Louisiana, and the heat has finally taken its toll. The leather coverings over the door inserts have begun to fall away from the door....the adhesive apparently having melted. I'm looking for input from anyone who has had to deal with this repair before (or has reskinned these inserts themselves). How hard is it to get the inserts themselves off? Secondly, what kind of adhesive should I be looking to use (since this is going to be exposed to my car's hot interior)?
And finally, where can I find some aftermarket replacement inserts? (just in case my self repair does not go well).

I tried this and it's a temporary fix. Part of the issue is the foam behind the leather panel is deteriorated and so no adhesive will stick until it makes good contact to the material beyond the deteriorating foam.
Spray adhesive will work for a while and you may want to go this route. But, I am going to try the repair suggested in the forum that pulls down the leather, rubs the deteriorating foam off and then uses contact cement on both sides.
