Default 2010 mustang kooks long tubes o/r x-pipe, 15" resonators and FRPP stingers = WOW!

I have been in search of some used borla/frpp stinger for a couple weeks. I had a couple offers but werent much cheaper then new. I couldnt figure out why there was nobody wanting to get rid of these. Well now I know. I ended up just purchasing brand new ones from cjponyparts for $450 shipped. They are the FRPP version which was what I wanted anyway. I put these on yesterday morning and started it up and I just had a huge smile on my face. These things are awesome. I was in search for a while for a set of mufflers that would go well with my car. I was originally running kooks long tubes catted h-pipe and roush catback. I loved the way it sounded but the cats kept failing on me and kooks really was no help. I went with and o/r setup. Well the o/r h-pipe sounded like crap IMO and I needed to change it. I have been listening to youtube videos alot trying to find a good combo. Well I figured out an x-pipe had to go in place of the h-pipe to get the sound I was looking for. I also started listening to alot of videos with mustangs with the borla stingers. I really liked this setup. I found one video in particular that just sounded plain mean without being crazy loud. The guy was running kooks longtubes o/r x-pipe 18" resonators before the axle and borla stingers. This is basically the exact setup im now running. My current setup is kooks long tubes o/r x-pipe, roush mid pipes with 15" resonators and frpp stingers. I made a quick video so let me know what you guys think of the new sound. I apologize for this being so long but I wanted to try and explain how I got to this setup. Thanks Brandon

Can someone explaing what a resonator does to the exhaust system? I'm not quite sure what the purpose is.
Thanks,
E

This is one of the best sounding Mustangs I've ever heard. Can't wait to get my Hot Rod cams.

Love the sound. I suspect your cams are really contributing so much to that burble.

Thanks,

It quiets the exhaust a little but it also gets rid of trumpeting, reduces drone and improves the overall tone.
