OEM HID Color Temp?

4200-4500K - the lens refraction in most ellipsoid headlights gives the impression of a more "blueish purple" hue than the bulb itself actually projects.
Next time you're near an Audi/BMW (typically the "bluest" looking ellipsoids) look at the road in front of the car, and it'll be white.
To the OP: If you want OEM -LOOKING- HIDs then you'll probably want 6000Ks.

A bit off topic, but has anyone seen a comparison of a 5000k HID to a 5000k halogen? I'd be curious to see what the light output difference really is.
FWIW, I had stock halogens in my SUV (typically about 3500k-3800k) and replaced them with 5000k halogens. In wet weather at night, the useable light output was poor. I switched to the 4100k Silverstar Ultras and was VERY pleased. Again, fwiw...

I just want to match color temp when I get the HID fogs. I know I know that is not the prupose of "fog" lights but I never drive my car in fog and even when I have driven other card in the fog they did not have fog lights and I survived.

I pulled a bulb on my OEM install not a year back and looked it up, I could have sworn it was 5400. I might just remember this wrong and it was 4400, but fairly certain, not that it matters as this is a necromancy thread, but still, have to check this again when I get a chance.
