trip and odometer getting different readings?
when my mustang hit the 60k mile on my odometer i reset my trip to 0 so they would be matching from now on. but today i looked at my trip and it said 529.5 miles and my odometer read 60536.0. so in roughly 500 miles my odometer got 6.5 miles ahead of my trip. i know that it is not a big difference, but non the less it bugs me a little. i thought it could have been my tires, but i thought that the odometer/trip would be using the same calculations. think it is something worth getting checked out or just shrug it off?

I always reset my trip odometer when I fill up and have noticed on occasion that my trip odometer will reset back to zero for no reason at all. It is 1.4 miles from the gas station to my house and on other occasions I will drive 12-15 miles and the next morning the trip odometer will again read zero. This has happened to me maybe eight or nine times in four years. I never took it in while under warranty as I figured they wouldn't be able to correct it. Maybe the same thing is happening to you.

You pressed the reset when the Odometer had 0.5 on it unknown to you cus
the Odometer does not have a resolution of 0.1...
Maybe the stealership can track this down for you and explain it in
greater detail than I ever could...
I am sure they would be glad to look at this 'problem'.

I think I read in the Workshop Manual about the Odometer reading
off the ABS sensor ring on the right rear wheel and the Trip reads
off the ABS sensor ring on the left rear wheel.
If the tires are not inflated to the exact same pressure, the readings
will be slightly but enough to notice to be different over a great deal
of distance (lets say 530 miles).
This will fix the problem, pronto.
