Default Removing center console?

I need to remove the center console. I just installed my MGW shifter and I cant get the rebber boot over the base plate of the new shifter. MGW advised me to remove the entire console and the rubber boot is easier to install. My question is does anyone have a diagram of how to remove the center console. Or can someone tell me where all the screws are that I need to remove to get the console out? The road noise is pretty bad with the boot not installed properly.

You can get the top of the console off pretty easy, there are two phillips head screws on the rear of the console (under the arm rest). You'll then pull up on your ebrake, the top of the console will just lift up. If you need to get the base of the console up, there are several 7mm bolts throughout but I can't remember the exact locations of them.

I haven't seen a diagram for that, I pulled mine out of my 05 around a year ago. I can't remember how many 7mm's there, I believe I had to remove the radio bezel to get to some of them, but im not sure.

I know they "suggested" that but the directions say to install after. Anyway, I tried to do it before but I couldn't maneuver the shifter like I needed to with the boot on.

Installing the boot even sucked on the bench. I can't imagine trying it in the car. I know trying to drop the shifter in with the boot on was a little harder. But it was well worth the extra 2 minutes of wiggling it into place

Im pretty sure I can get the boot on pretty easily if I can get the console off. I just cant get my hand in the small space around the base plate due to the console.

i suggest getting these handy tools in order to pull your console off

http://www.mossmuscle.com/Shop/ViewP...eIndexID=71900

these panel poppers are nice even if u do only use them once. I have removed my console and it was easy u just need these tools or u could us a flat head screwdriver with a rag so u dont damage your interior
