Default Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT in 2010 Mustang

I'm thinking about getting the Pioneer AVIC-Z120BT GPS in my 2010 Mustang. Right now I just have the factory 500 Shaker System.

I've been trying to research this to see what else I need besides the actual Pioneer GPS Unit. Is there any other adapters, wiring, kits, etc that I would need to get this unit installed?

Anyone else have this exact or similar GPS installed?

Thanks for the help

Metra says you will need the parts listed below to make the swap.

Dash Kit
99-5823CH

Wiring harness
XSVI-5520-NAV

Steering wheel interface
ASWC

You may want to shop for a PAC part for the steering wheel interface. They may have a dedicated part that will work just with your Pioneer unit and wont be a universal part.

Like this

PAC
SWI-PS

They also list other noise isolators, but unsure if you would have any noise issues. They also do not list an antenna adapter so I have no clue if the 2010 car went back to a standard antenna connection.

No one has been ballsy enough to try it. I bet the fit and finish looks like crap compared to the factory radio. I guess the awesomeness of the AVIC may overtake that

I'm not feeling how the screen would be so low and they move the AC buttons up top, i feel like the shifter would get in the way

Not exactly GPS, but I just installed a Pioneer AVH-p4200dvd in my car and it's NOICE. I already have a Garmin, so I didn't want the Avic.

I have all the bass settings either OFF or set as low as they'll go, and it hits hard!

If you go to Crutchfield and configure for a 2010 Mustang ... it shows you all you need ... including the METRA KIT and the PAC harness. Their package doesn't include the SWC harness. They give you pretty good discounts on the parts if you buy them the same time as the HU ....

I really hope SCOSCHE comes out with their install kit. They retain the factory SYNC display (METRA does not) ....and ad a secondary LCD display for the climate controls.

The thing is that the new GPS/NAV HU's have so much built into them ... it basically replaces everything that SYNC does in the first place ... so is there any use trying to retain SYNC functionality except for a vehicle health report?
