Sounds like a great deal to buy the roush. The good thing is it's NOT polished. I hate the look of a dirty polished surface.

some real O.G.s when it comes to the M90.. these guys don't mess around!

http://www.fnsweet.com/forums/05-09-...nk-pulley.html

there's a dude on there running 11.9s on a modded M90 set up.

It's a potent blower, people like to diss on it because in a day and age of twin screws and TVS blowers they forgot how much power can be had with the M90.

Not like it's a Roots from the 1960s or anything rofl

IMO, if you are happy and satisfied with sub 450 RWHP then the M90 is for you.

If you have plans to upgrade later and exceed 450 RWHP, buy the Whipple H.O.

Sure it's more expensive, but that blower is capable of supporting up to 700 RWHP. The M90 would never be capable of that.

I wonder how many people on here actually could afford to build a Mustang with over 800hp, and then actually drive it. I know I couldn't... I'd just buy a GT500 and save some money, lol. My 09 had a lowly non-intercooled Vortech putting 400 to the ground on 373 gears and it was all over the place.

I run an M90 Roushcharger in my daily driver. It's plenty for the street, and has boost at safe levels on stock internals.

So IDK I'm still stuck here. I spoke with Jim Jr. at JDM who claims it's a good kit and with a 500hp kit it'll be roasting the tires with 4.10s until 3rd gear.

I spoke with VMP who I figured would be a big advocate but he didn't seem thrilled with the m90. Said he thought it'd be worth it to spend a couple extra grand and get the TVS. What's the upgradability? Obviously the injectors work but does anything else carry over, for sure?(to the TVS). I'm looking around and it looks like some guys are only just getting over 400rwhp even with a pulley/CAI/tune. I would hate to think that it's almost maxed out at only(yes, I said only) 400rwhp

450-460 is right at the brink of busting the bolts off the manifold lol

jk

it's a smaller set up than most Roots, even the M112 (Magnacharger. Cobras, Gt500s) so it's not going to put out a ton of power but still very respectable.

The thing about the M90 vs the R2300 is that you'll be spending more money to have it run cooler/more efficiently, rather than having to "under drive" the much more powerful R2300. Buying the R outright and under driving it, will net you 470-515whp, but will cost an extra grand and numbers the M90 will never see.

The same grand or so you'd be spending on the 500HP VMP kit and or Upgraded AFCO intercooler could get you the R2300. Getting the M90 now and then upgrading to the R is also very expensive, those options were more along the lines for 427R stage 3 owners, already having the M90 on their cars stock.

450whp is plenty for the street, even the track, but some people don't like it because once they go forged motor they'll be stuck with a maxed out blower (M90), where the R will finally be able to spread it's wings more and make some REAL POWER (650+whp) .. well, until your trans explodes.. but that's a whole new can of worms.

The M90 will satisfy 90% of most speed junkies imo.

^^^^^That's the entire issue here. Do I upgrade now for the future (built motor) which is years away or do I save some money now cas it's an awesome deal and upgrade later......

BTW I don't know ebay, is that seller that was linked - gyfordparts - a reputable dealer or am I gonna get screwed? lol

They have a good reputation. I was gonna get a kit from them

It all depends on your set up and what you want RIGHT NOW.

Have fun now with the M90 being at a great deal, upgrade later and pay MORE when going forged or get the R2300 now, under drive it and still make a massive amount of power, spend the extra money and then have 150 more whp when you do go forged??

If you're for sure going forged, there's no reason not to get the R2300 outright if you can afford it.
