Some of the low 2011 Mustang GT prices I assume, and you know all about that..........huh , is the GT and not the higher priced GT Premium.

True. I could probably get a base 2011 gt for 29kish but not many options. Tonight I told my dad what they cost. My dad thinks getting 4:10 gears, CAI would be wasting my money. I told him thats why I should get a 2011 then because my stock 2006 is slow now.

There are few solutions available for people who pay too much. When I bought my 2007 V6, I walked into the dealship with my laptop and the printout of a big Excel spreadsheet of the comparable cars in the area, and the ones that had been for sale over the previous 6 or so months (it took me that long to find exactly the car I wanted). I think I got somewhere between a fair and a good price, but having the list of nearly-identical cars was a big help.

You can push some of the bargaining chips around afterwards, though. You are welcome to call the dealership and threaten to drive to their lot, give them the car keys back, and default on the car payments. This is known as "strategic default", and is more common with mortgages when people owe more than their house is worth. It's much better to threaten this than to actually do it, because it wrecks your credit score, and they can go after you for the amount of money they lose (but its often expensive to do so). You may be able to squeeze a free extended warranty or servicing from them, but I wouldnt trust that same dealership to service my car anyway.

$30.9K GT premium automatic. 'Twas an advertised price that I thought was fair and was the easiest, least pressure purchase I've ever made on any car. They let me test drive cars until I turned blue without rushing me along and didn't give heavy handed pitch in finance either.

i am looking at a couple different 5.0s this weekend

one has 2900km on it, glass roof, premium,IUP,shaker, sync, heated seats,security,3.73s....$30k(Canadian) out the door...sticker is somewhere around the 42k range....is this a good deal?

other one his 5600km on it, no glass roof, brembos, scoop and spoiler, premium,IUP,sync, heated seats, security 3.73 but i haven't got a price on it yet, whats fair?

these cars were supposedly driven by ford "reps" they have 4 total(2 autos and 2 manuals all with under 6000km on them, the two i mentioned are the manuals)

is it worth jumping on now? or wait and see what comes mid winter? spring?

Thanks.
Dustin
