Yes or No to this DIY mod?
O.k. since my car is almost blacked out I was thinking
of painting my rear badge.
The chrome seems like it's too much chrome with my setup.
So I was thinking of painting my rear badge black and
painting the FORD part chrome to match the GT part.
Here is a pic of someone else's painted badge.
I used MS Paint to paint in the FORD logo.
Keep in mind it would be chrome and not white like in this pic
Ok.. here it is:
So yes or no? Would it look good with my black car and flat black stripes?
Also... should I do it in gloss black or matte black?
I know matte would look better on a non striped car to show a difference
in color.... but since my stripes are matte black wouldn't
gloss be better to show the slight difference in shade?
(The gloss would offset the matte stripes for a shade difference to SEE the badge?)
Lets hear what you think on both doing it at all and which black to go with if I
do it!
Thanks all!

You should be shot for even thinking of.... using MS paint! :P
As for the badge, do what is going to put a smile on your face. I personally don't like the blacked-out/murdered look, but that badge should look good if you keep the chrome lettering.

I thought the gloss black would look better but when I used paint to
cut and paste the flat still looked better and showed some contrast difference
with the flat stripes on still.
LOL at the Ms paint but do you see what i mean?

I see what you mean. Gloss would look cool. It's just that you will have the 2" gloss between your stripes going straight down through it that will kill the contrast. Either way, you'll have gloss touching gloss... or matte touching matte...
so it really comes down to the badge itself. I'm still thinking matte.

I'd say black it out but I like the blacked out look. My paint guy did mine with his black he used on his 67 camaro. He then used the extra red from my caliper paint to do the lettering. I wanted the pony instead of the GT so I used a V6 badge.
