Default Wanting to install oem backup camera.

I ordered an 2011 mustang GT 5.0 convertible with the electronics package. When it came in I realized that I had forgot to order the backup camera. I noticed that the camera plug is located in the trunk lid. My question is: If I ordered an oem spoiler and oem camera could I just plug it in to make it work. Would the SYNC/screen need to be programed? I have seen other aftermarket options but I would rather stay with the oem. Thanks

Hi, I ordered the spoiler with the camera in it. I had a body shop paint it and install it. There was a plug in the trunk already. It did not work, so I took it to the dealer. This was about a month ago. The dealer, after spending a day with it, and checking with Ford and others determined that since the 2011 mustang had a generation 2 sync in it, they would need an updated patch so that they could get into the sync and get it to except the camera. In a week or so when I get the oil changed for the first time I will see if they have the update.

Hi thanks for answering. I found out Thursday that the ford Nav. Update came out last week. Parts are about 350, which you won't need then they take out your radio, send it to ford to be programed and your good to go. Lou
