Default Where/How to install Wide Band bung on stock exhaust

I just ordered a set of gauges for my Super Charger install. I plan on leaving the stock exhaust on ... already have 2010 GT500 mufflers installed for a nice rumble.

It's really tight between the exhaust manifold and the Cat ... no way to get in there and drill and weld. Do I need to drop the entire H-Pipe to get the bung installed? I would like to get it as close to 12:00 on the pipe as possible and not mount it underneath.

Anyone been there and done that ???

Also ... how are you guys mounting gauges in the 2010/2011 ... the only thing I found was the Vent Pod ... but that is only 1 gauge.

I was thinking I will put the A/F gauge in the vent .. and by a generic mount for boost and mount it in the center of the column behind the steering wheel.

It's easiest to remove the entire pipe. Take your sensor underneath the car with you and position it where youwould like it. It doesn't need to be at 12 oclock. It doesn't matter where it is for accuracy. It matters for prevention of moisture being pooled into the sesnor. The area where our particular sensor goes is at such an angle I have never seen it make a difference.

$5 for an O2 sensor bung and some drilling and welding and your are done.

I mounted mine on my cat between the screen and 2.5" pipe. Same AF readings as the dyno.

Here is where mine is at. Driver's side pre-cat. Very common location from what I understand.

Ditto. As for guage mounting options, have you considered an SOS pillar pod?

So in this picture it seems you mount it on the front side facing the front of the car right ??? Did you have to remove the pipe to do this ??

Thanks ... Dan

Didn't know they make a 2010 version. I found Autometer announced a pillar setup back in October but I can't find it for sale anywhere.

Nice, this thread come in handy. My wife just bought me a wide band air fuel guage. I already ran the power wire from the passenger side fuse panel. I'll be mounting it in the vent using a Roush vent pod.

Took the midpipe in, had it welded, then brought it back to the garage and reinstalled it.

Ran it with a plug for a few weeks until I started the supercharger install.
