Well, to be fair anything can be turned into a legit race car. You can't compare the Boss or Cobra Jet so a Civic SI, because two are HEAVILY modified, and the thirds is just . . . well stock. A far comparison would be the Civic SI vs. like an 05-09 V6 Stang. No offense to anyone here, but in stock form neither are race cars by an stretch of the imagination.

What I'm saying is a lot of people think that their Civic IS a race car. Including my one friend who has racing seats and the lot and is probably making ~200hp Some people have a tainted view of what a 'race car' is.

Regardless, I'd take a Cobra Jet, Boss 302S or I'd find an '87 GN and mod the hell out of it and make it a drag car

Oh I agree there are far too many who broadly define or think their car is a race car. I'm sure there are plenty of Mustang owners who do it too hehe. I'm sure there are plenty who would laugh at me if I called my stang a race car . Which I don't. Because it's a rocket ship.

For pure track driving, nothing comes close to the corner speed and 'flickability' you can generate in one of these things...

for a track car, my dream car is a 2000 cobra R.
mainly bc i have a 2000 so it looks sort of like it.
i will also be racing @ SCCA this weekend so i may have a better respect for track racing after that.
