Umm, they are special. They are a grind that Comp Cams made specifically for Brenspeed. I'm not saying Brenspeed is the only place that can tune for them, but I am saying Brenspeed worked with Comp Cam to develop these cams.

Congrats! Enjoy the cams. I can't wait!

I agree that Brenspeed worked with Comp to develop their specific grind, and that comp manufactures the cams for them. You can't buy these anywhere but Brenspeed.

My mistake! I had vaguely remembered reading somewhere that they were the same, but it turns out I was thinking of their B302 short block. Carry on!

They're still a comp cam grind. The difference in overlap is not something that is going to matter, whatsoever in the tune. So in that respect, it's not special. It's going to tune like any other cam out there. It's very similar to a Hot Rod cam in regards to tuning, actually.. Any company will be able to put together a tune for this if they can tune for Hot Rod cams idle/overlap and VCT from Comp Cams grinds. Not a big deal.

OP post back with your findings!

You can always order tunes from both companies and compare.

Cam tuning is alot simpler than most people think, and the difference in a calibraiton between different cams is almost nothing, other than VCT and idle quality. It's really simple.

Thanks Chris. It turns out that since I haven't previously had a tune from Brenspeed, I would have to pay for it for my cams. So I am going to go with the American Muscle tune. I am sure it will work out fine. If curiosity kills me sometime down the line maybe I will order a Brenspeed tune and write back with a comparison.

Bmr4life...did you get them in your car yet? UPS tracking says mine should be arriving today and I intend to put them in this weekend.

Not yet. Brenspeed is making my new tune now. I was waiting until after I had my LT's in and sorted out before I add the CAMS.
