Damn, I guess I will have to get a cheap set of rims with cheap tires and find some open and safe place to do this.
Hehe, the other day I was driving through an empty parking lot in the snow and lost control. Spun around atleast twice. Liked it so much I spent the next hour playing around! Parking lot had no curbs, was very large, had several light poles all near the edges, and all but 3 of the like 25 shops in the strip were out of business, so I was totally far away from everything.

pikes peak hill climb is called rally, drifting is only the quickest route when you aren't going to have traction anyway so you want to carry your momentum around the corner.

Drifting on tarmac is completely different, and yes its more style than speed, but it is putting your car as close to the limit as possible while keeping control

Troll OP, please make a video of you doing everything ken block has done there and I will pay you $25,000 cash. I also retain rights to the video.

Well, that there boys and girls is what we call a win-win-win situation.

Win: Because Op won't put up.

I didn't get sideways into my turn, I am sure of it. I am sure if I was completely sideways in the turn I described, I would have probably got my *** end of my car into the grass.

I am not trying to say that I became an expert or a pro because I made not even a quarter of a doughnut. All I was trying to say was when it happened, as unintentional as it was, it was damn fun.

I always think of imports or off road cars when I think of drifting.
But I bet it is fun to do.

Sure would be nice to have the cash to spend on a car so you could
romp on it like that over and over.
Same for you guys that get to have the track or drag cars.

I guess sponsors are the key.
That or being VERY successful financially in life.

Hell I just can't wait till this thing is paid off so I can do some major mods on it
or slap a blower on it.
Sucks that I live so far away from ANY shop that is reliable for such things.
That is another added expense AND hassle that I have to deal with.
Makes the trips to the shop that much more important too making SURE things are done right the first time.
There was a time where i had to drive 600 mi. THREE times within three weeks for problems.
Needless to say I was VERY UPSET and VERY FRUSTRATED.

There is no dyno for 300 mi. in any direction where I am at.
Same goes for a reputable shop for modding Mustangs.

I love where I live but my car and what I want to do with it
involves such a passion for me that if my family were to say they would pick up
and move I'd do it in a heartbeat JUST for having close access to such things.
Plus there would be a much bigger community of folks to share the fun with.

We have a small club here but we rarely meet and it really bums me out.
The track here closed a while back too even before I got the chance to run there.
Sucks because I had planned on doing it once I got some good mods but back then
I was basically stock so I didn't do it. Wish I had just for fun.

I have NEVER ran my car at a track and I REALLY want to.

Wow... I got off the subject kind of but oh well.
I'm on pain meds this morning, feeling good, and it sometimes makes me
want to talk and talk and talk and talk and... well.... talk.

If you want to go sideways on dry tarmac try this.

Find an EMPTY parking lot, i mean completely empty.

Turn your wheel ALL the way left or right.
Floor the gas to break the wheels and then keep the throttle on and off to keep your car balanced. Ive done it a few times, alot of fun but it does burn alot of rubber.
