Default Performance Newbie on a budget

Hey guys! I've recently wanted to get a little kick on my performance after a while with my 07 mustang. Nothings been modified (that I know of) and I've only got a budget of $200 for now. I realize that if I buy a CAI WITHOUT a tuner, its basically a waste of money...So any other ideas? I guess I could save up an extra $200 for a decent tuner or get a combo or something. But if anyone has better ideas PLEASE let me know..

Thanks!

Let's see, $200.
KN drop in filter
Throttle body spacer
Some cool JEG's stickers...and always remember the octane booster!

CMON MAN!!!!!

I wouldn't even think about it until you can get a tuner with some custom tunes ($400) bro. I have to say that while I have an intake with my tuner, she runs pretty strong with a good tune and the stock air box (Ty brenspeed). If you decide to buy an intake at a later date, the guys that write your tunes will update the tuner at no cost...if you buy the intake through them

Save your money and get the CAI/Tune...that's pretty much the first performance mod that most guys on this site recommend.

$200 will buy you some nitrous. Not that you can inject it for $200 but you can inhale it and imagine that you have more performance.

Save the $200 and put it towards the #1 one bang; CAI & custom tune.

For $200 you could get a short throw shifter.

So around $400-500 will get me a tuner? TBH, I don't even know exactly what the tuner does...and why it would be better to have a CAI with it.

The tune enhances the performance of the CAI. Althoug a stand-alone custom tune will yield very nice gains, the tune does more for a CAI than a CAI does alone. Expect about 20-25 RWHP on the 4.6L and a bit less on the 4.0. The tune also enhances drivability and shift points (for autos).

I checked out the 3 BAMA custom tuner and it looks nice. but if i went ahead and got that tuner for now, and bout a CAI later, would that be okay? Because doesn't the CAI only add like 5-10 more HP?
