anybody try these plugs? did a search which revealed not out yet, but that was early last year. show a listing now for 4.6 as being 1 piece, direct replacement for 05 to 07

Doesn't ford have a one piece plug? Gimmicks don't usually work, Here’s a rule of thumb I have always used. If any after market item gave any performance or mileage advantage, then Ford would have them in their cars from the factory, after all Ford can make E-3 plugs just as easy as what ever company makes E-3 plugs. A 100,000 volt coil that fires a single electrode on a plug will make a 100,000 volt spark, If for some reason you could split the voltage and fire a duel electrode, each side would get 50,000 volts, and splitting it into 3 sections will most likely fire just one of the electrodes but for arguments sake lets say it has three sparks, one for each electrode. Each spark would carry 33,333 volts. You can't get more spark out of a plug then you put into it no matter how many times you split the electrode.

I don't know about the e3 plugs, but @recon, the stock motorcraft plugs are 2 piece.

Unless it costs them a fraction of a penny more to put it on each vehicle on the assembly line.

For the record, I find you can't beat the autolite/motorcraft plugs. Even though they're a crappy 2-piece design, if you pull them every 15K miles or so and put fresh anti-sieze on them, you'll never have a problem removing them.

I use the e3 and love them never had a problem for 40k miles now

I installed E3s in 2 GM cars. Both cars ran better then when the cars were new!! I highly recommend them. I never tried E3s in a Mustang.
