A comeplete new rear assembly is a little more than 1,000. You won't need the entire thing. You will need an axle. Summit sells them and they don't cost much.

Here you go. Check first, I thought the V6 had a smaller differential.

You could replace the entire rear axle with a new take off 8.8" for A LOT less than they quoted you to repair the 7.5" on the V6 (2005-2010 model years had the smaller rear axle). Plus with the 8.8 swap you get the Tlok that the 7.5 lacks and the added strength of the bigger differential.
