3:73 or 4:10 gears. Which to get. Dad said....

If you can't afford to put premium fuel in your car, then don't bother getting gears or a tune. It's $3.00 for regular right now. If you get premium, it's $3.20 per gallon. That's a 6.7% increase in price. When I installed 3.73s, my mileage dropped from 28 mpg to 22 mpg. That is a decrease of 21% in fuel economy. This means it will cost you more to fill up with regular fuel after gears than it will to fill up now with premium.
You probably drive a slushbox, and your shifting would be all messed up with the gears and no tune, so you would be even worse off.

My vote would be for the 3.73's....although I hear 4.10's being alot of fun, I tend to look at the other side, like if & when the fun wears off. I think the 3.73's are a great "all-around" choice.

I would also go with an intake and tune first. Regarding gears, do you have an auto or manual? If you have a auto, the 3.73s would be fine since the 06 auto comes with 3.31. If it's a manual either get 4.10s or just keep the 3.55s. Going from 3.55 to 3.73s would be a waste of time and money.

lol you drive a stock 3v and you "know" you can handle a supercharger.
Whatever you do, get Intake/Tune first. Tune from Bamachips @ American Muscle. Then do gears. If you drive on the highway get 3.73's, if you don't get 4.10's. Then tell me you need a supercharger. 1st gear with 4.10's will feel like you have a blower.

I went from 3.31s to 3.73s on my 09. I wouldn't have done that again in retrospect as there was hardly any difference at all. If you don't have an intake/tune, then I'd start there instead of the gears.
