i think with the nice wheather lately that im going to change my oil for the first time.

I have no idea what kind of oil or oil filter toget. 06 V6

Any suggestions as to what kind to get?

Your '06 V6 came from the factory with 5W-30 Motorcraft synthetic blend; 5 quarts if I recall. You can get that at WalMart along with the same Motorcraft filter. The blend and filter are good for about 7,000 miles or 6 months. If you're looking for extending the oil change frequency to 10,000 miles or beyond, any of the brand-name full synthetics will work but for most folks, full synthetic is a waste if you're not taking advantage of the extended frequencies.

From memory (NOW we're in trouble), the Motorcraft filter is FL-820S

I work at walmart so i was going to buy it there but i got a friend with a mustang who works at autozone so im jsut gona pay a little extra and get it there. I just wanted to get input from the forum.

I have probably put 6000 miles on my car sence ive had it and the previous owner said he had jsut changed it but didnt say when so im just assuming its probably a good idea to change it soon.

But you recommend motorcraft?
