Default Long roadtrip tomorrow!

Going to drive my car tomorrow from SW-PA to SW-FLA. Going to be torture, but I'll make it. Stang is sitting in the driveway with a full tank of gas ready to go. I'm going to record my fuel economy, but im going to be more interested in saving time than gas, since it'll be 17+ hours no breaks. Wish me luck!

Anyone near the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area?

Ouch 17 hours is going to be terrible lol. I know trying to make it 14 hours from IL to NY was bad enough but adding even more onto that sounds even worse.

Good luck! Just don't fall asleep while driving, I know it can get crazy boring if you're headed out alone.

Wow that's one heck of a drive. I live in Orlando and used to make trips to Naples every month so I passed by Ft Myers every time. Watch out for FHP, they like to sit in between Sarasota and Ft Myers on some weekends especially now that the Florida high schools and Universities will be coming on spring break soon!

I've done some non-stop drives from MD to Orlando and it get's boring once you get to the flat lands. I think my record was about 14 hours straight in the early 90's when I was still driving a 93 Corolla. I only made one gas and bathroom break. My aunt packed me some nice sandwiches and I just kept on driving.

Be safe on your trip. Fortunately, the S197 is a much more comfortable car than the SN95, so I don't think your trip will be too bad on your ***.

I've made quite a few over 900 mile trips in the Stang and it's certainly a lot more fun than in my SUV. Watch your surroundings and use some rabbits if conditions permit. I made a few Chicago-to-Mississippi runs (950 miles) in under 12 hours including 3 fuel and 1 food stop.
