I like mine, but I'd rather have a Shaker Hood...

I like the look of the hood scoop but don't like that it's not functional. That's why I went with a shaker.

This is how I feel....I like the look of a hood scoop but I really think it should be functional. Seems like it would decrease your mpg some (if you care about it) by the wind not being able to pass through it but rather bounce off of it.

Another thing to consider is, approximately 98% (if not all) of the OEM hoods are contaminated. Read about the hood corrosion in the TSB. Instead of putting $$ in a hood scoop, why not put it towards something like a new hood with a built in functional hood scoop? If you are one of the unfortunates who have discovered the TSB, I'm sure you realize you are most likely out of warranty thus Ford will not cover it. For the amount of $$ that you would spend fixing it, you could have bought a whole new hood.

Just my 2¢

I love my Roush scoop. And if you put some extra money into it (and a drill), you can make it functional. That may be over kill but cosmetically it looks cool.

I'm a hood scoop fan myself, although I tend to like the ones built into the hood itself rather than added later or put through a hole in the hood. I have the stock ford one and personally I love the way it looks, I like the low profile. But down the road I think I might replace the hood for something cleaner.

I was on the fence for about a year before I added mine. So happy with it now that I have it. Just looks old school, and thats what I like.
