2010 GT with Factory CAI - Best Aftermarket air filter?
#21
If it makes any difference, I don't mind. It's all good information and good data points.
Kinda disturbing tho that K&N and other "performance" filters can be so widely endorsed, and yet actually give so little in gains, and maybe even not filter worth a damn.
In other words, they sound more like one of the greatest rip offs in automobile history!
So I did order an aFe Pro Dry filter. Common sense and any kind of scientific thinking dictates that a filter design that increases the amount of surface area through which the filtered air must flow will reduce the restriction to that air flow. Back in the day we used to either buy a chromed air filter holder or cut the top off of the stock air breather sitting on our 4 bbl carburetor, and remove the sides, and get the tallest round air filter that would still fit under the hood to maximize engine breathing.
