Default Nitto 20' Drag Radials

Any one have experiance with the Nitto D/R's in 20's? The sizes are 275/40R20 & 305/35R20. Now that I have the blower on the 08 traction....well there is none...LOL

I know that 2 extra wheels in 17 or 18 w/drag radials would serve me better, but I am not a hardcore race guy. So if I wanted to keep my 20's on all the time & do the ocasional (every 6 moths or so) track day, has anybody used these???

Remember that radials will wear out quick! But Nitto's do last the longest for a radial...

I have been running 20" Nitto NT 555Rs for about the last 5,000 miles. I have not abused them at all and so far they are holding up pretty well. They are about 50% worn and I would not be suprised if I get 10,000 or 12,000 miles out of them. I think they do very well on wet roads for a drag radial too. They stick better than normal tires but since they do not have much of a sidewall they will not grip as good as a smaller rim and highher sidewall tire will. When I race I run a set of 18" MT ET Street IIs for the strip. Good luck.

Thanks for the info, at the present moment I drive my car only on weekends as I have a dd. The car is an 08 (I bought new) & it has 10,200 miles....lol, so I should get a good life out of them. What size tire did you go with & what width are you rear wheels?

The D/Rs are on my other car and is not a Mustang; it has Nitto 305/40/18s so you cannot really compare these. The tires I am getting for my Son's Stang are 275/50/17 which is a taller tire to compensate for his 4.11 ratio rear end. Unless you have a 4.11 you should not need a taller tire like this. If I ever felt I would be out in the rain I would go with a Nitto 555R otherwise I would go with at MT D/R. It is not a rain tire, but it is far better in the rain than the MT which I hear is really dangerous. Sorry, I am not much help.
