Very true! I am not sure how much of a difference it would make rotating the wheels side to side. Majority of my wear comes from the rear wheels gripping the pavement.
I only paid $109 per wheel, plus shipping on Tire Rack, but that was 3 years ago. Inexpensive for 20" tires. =-)

In general, (assuming you don't take the car to a track or do frequent burn outs) how man miles do your tires last ?
Historically, I have been able to get about 12500 miles per 100 treadwear rating from most tires. Some sets have gone further, only one was much worse. The way I figure it, as long as your inflation pressures and alignment are set to suit your driving (and you keep an eye on the pressures at least), I don't see much reason for getting less than 10,000/100TW on any true street tire (Note: drag radials and the top street tire autocrossing tires don't count as being "true street tires").

Basis:
I rarely even get much wheelspin other than a little that sometimes happens if I squeeze a little too deeply into the throttle while cornering hard, and I haven't done an intentional showy burnout in over 40 years. But I accelerate briskly, frequently stop hard, and on average probably take corners harder than most anybody that you're likely to meet, so I'm not getting that kind of tire life by always driving gently.

Edit - it would be nice to know the width of those 20" wheels. A good width for a 255/35 will be half an inch to an inch too narrow for best utilization of what a 275/35 can offer.

i have toyo proxy's on my 20" konig lace wheels and they are pretty good. not the best in the rain but they are decent. when i took the car to the track i pulled a 1.9 60ft with them which isnt too bad and they were pretty cheap. i only bought 20s bc when i went to replace the stock 19" pirelli p zeros they wanted like 1800 just for tires, i almost fell over when i heard that price lol
