DUDE - DO NOT MESS WITH THAT! If you do, it will create a rip in space time and swallow you, the car and any passengers into it to never be seen again. I know cuz I saw it on Dr. Who.

OP let us know what you find out. It's got to be either a Satellite antenna or a GPS receiver.

No doubt it's for an aftermarket headunit that has GPS or sat. radio capability...I have the same thing in the same location. If you don't have an aftermarket head unit and bought it used the previous owner may have installed an aftermarket head unit and before trading it in uninstalled it but forgot all the parts. Just throwing that out there.

I've seen used car lots stick GPS trackers on all cars they sell. Typically these car lots sell to people with very bad credit. They use the GPS to find the car a few months later when the people don't pay their bill.
