The same used to be true in Texas, that is until they passed amendments that allow cameras to be used as legal devices for proving someone has run stop lights. This the red-light-ticket in the mail.
No, this is not a legal mechanism to send you speeding tickets in the mail, but it is a first step going in that direction. And if it happens in Texas(speeding ticket by mail), it will happen elsewhere in the country.

As always and as I always say, the only way to combat and hopefully kill Big Brother is to get out an vote. Vite down any Big Brother bills or bills that have anything Big Brother in it. If you state has red-light-tickets by mail, write your state senators and representatives to create a bill to repeal those Big Brother laws.

I just read a article where they have done studies on those red light camera's. The study found that the camera's cause accidents. Intersections where they were installed, the accident rates for those intersections went up. This I guess was due to people slamming on their brakes and trying to stop at the last minute so they don't get ticketed. And also a lot of people were receiving tickets in the mail, where it was legal for them to turn right on red.

Yeah, sounds like those things had some serious flaws. Not to mention, if they start posting cams there (I guess it is understandable in intersections) five years down the road where else are they going to go up? Gateway drug...lol

Lots of red light cameras getting installed in Aurora Colorado. They are at virtually every major intersection now. HUGE cash cow. I would affirm that I believe they could easily increase the number of accidents at intersections per the study.

Traffic cameras 'help' increase accidents because of moron drivers being the main cause behind the accident. It's not like the presence of cameras make people drive ****ty. Do people drive perfectly in areas without cameras?

I bet that thing in the OP is something for satellite radio.

I installed one of those last night with my aftermarket head unit. When I turned the car on, the flashlight I was using transformed and started going crazy, but the car slammed the seat back down on it and crushed it. I got lucky though, I don't think the OP did...

Which can only mean one thing... The all-spark is somewhere in your car.

But for srs, you installed the box/receiver thing in the exact same place as the OP?

Yeah, the GPS antenna. It's supposed to work better if it's in either on the dash or behind the back seat, on top of that deal, basically anywhere with glass above it. Supposed to connect to satellites better I believe, and that corner was the easiest to route to keep it out of eyesight.
