Cool Misty the mustangs NON-official thread

Ok so at first i was going to do a motor swap to the new 5.0 then i was going to throw a 351w in it. Now it is currently in the shop getting the stage 2 procharger put on it along with a stallion 3 body kit. Im leaving it the same color and i got some blue neon glow to put in the stallion grill to shine on the intercooler. Already got all my bolt ons such as cai, x-pipe no mufflers, headers, and throttle body. Anything im missing? The stage 3 heads/cams are coming in july so that will put me over 500 pretty easy. I guess all thats left after that is to build the block yea? Anyways she is gunna be a straight show car/DD but only for a few months till i get a beater or move my truck up to NY. Let me know what you guys think and ill keep you up to date and post picks from the may car show in carlisle.

Where are you getting these numbers you are throwing around? Bolt on CAI won't be compatible with the procharger so thats out the window. How much boost you planning to run? 10-12? That will put you around 320-350rwhp heads a cams won't put you anywhere near 500rwhp, maybe close to 400rwhp if youre lucky. That will also be pushing it on stock internals. You also didn't equate a fuel pump upgrade, atleast a BAP or a wiring upgrade for the stock fuel pump module. Also do you have an 8.8 or some form of Tlok in the 7.5 rear? Auto or manual? If manual you might want to look into a new clutch and possibly a transmission swap... There is alot more to it then slapping all of that on there and expecting a big number like that, you do realize GT's w/ 8-10psi (max on stock block) only make around 430-500....

Why not just buy a GT with all this money you're spending. The most you'll get out of a V6 if it's a full build is 400hp. Good luck getting 500hp with the mods you are talking about.

I would scrap that plan. Buy a gt or something easier/cheaper and get better results.

You could be on of the few & brave on the streets to install an old school 5.0 stroked to a 347 running a carb or keeping it injected and running a Vortech. I drove these engine combos daily back in the day....fun.

What suspension work are you doing to hook-up?

oh, sorry. I thought you were considering V8. The pro-charger is cool....It will give the V6 extra grunt and sound cool!! Have fun!!

Riiiiiiiight, and I say you need to turn in your Mustang card.
And don't go to the V6 section, you're gonna get hammered with those "pretty easy" numbers. lol.
