Question COLD AIR INTAKE - FOR GT 2011

Any suggestions on COLD AIR INTAKE for the GT 2011 (No tuning required)?
Is it really worth the money? US 329.00 for a no tune req. BBK Cold air intake?
Does it change the sound of the car?
Can you tell if there is any improvement in performance REV 2000 to 4000 RPM?

What are the PROS and CONS (if any)

Thanks again,
LCL

a CAI is useless without a tune...your looking at very minimal gains...in my opinion, it's a waste of money to just buy the intake, because later down the road if you decide to up the HP and buy a tuner, you're gonna end up paying $300+ for the intake and another $300+ on the tuner, when in most cases if you get the CAI tuner combo, you can get both for under $600...i would suggest getting the combo, plus you get free tunes for life

Thanks man,
Any suggestion on which CAI KIT would be a good one in terms of reliability and quality?
Can you tune the car yourself with the tuner?
Does that change anything if you car is under warranty?
Regards,
LCL

Howdy,
done that, but due to little experience on Mustang, I am sure I will get some good replies on this forum.
Stay safe,

no need to search, i don't mind helpin a fellow mustang brother out (even tho you are from NY haha...GO RED SOX)

http://www.americanmuscle.com/jlt-sct-2011gt-kit.html

http://www.americanmuscle.com/cnl-in...er-2011gt.html

i'd check these out...you can definitely tune it yourself, just make sure all other power accessories are off(radio, fan, etc)...and this won't mess with your warranty, all you would need to do is plug in the tuner and switch back to stock mode when you are taking your vehicle in for warranty work

I just bought a new GT last month and I definitely plan to buy a CAI/Tuner combo soon. After reading on this site for a couple of months I have decided to buy from American Muscle. I've narrowed my choices down to either the Steeda or the C&L
CAI with the SCT tuner with 3 bama tunes loaded. The Steeda is about $20 more but appears to have a better surrounding enclosure.
My only concern is would the tunes work well with the gas I buy and would I have to replace with original every time I take it in for service at the dealer. I do believe I am about to take the plunge soon because I am not pleased with my current throttle response at all and this is supposed to be one of the best improvements the tune makes.

UOL!!!
DRAGONETTI! forget about the off topic...If this is the same place I think it is, near POTENZA, then we are in business.
I have been in Dragonetti, spend 30 days in there, stayed with PACE family.

Is that Dragonetti, Basilicata?

Take care,
LCL
