The manual S197's tend to be notchy. Switching to a synthetic tranny fluid MAY help. Amsoil is another good choice.

Rattles are common and you've already received most typical comments; drown them out with exhaust or audio after "exhausting" all other methods.

So I've read. I've heard that penzoil synchromesh seems to work wonders for the 99-04 tr3650's, does that apply to these as well? I've also heard a long debate on if it destroys the synchros which is kind of keeping me from that...I don't know if I've ever found a final verdict on that.

Thanks for the replies everyone! As always more opinions are appreciated. I'm sure my notchiness is fine however as I have no grinding.

As for your observation about reverse. This is normal. If it happens, shift into any forward gear (OTHER THAN 5TH) and then go back into reverse...

Thank you so much everyone! My autos teacher just drove it today and he said it feels exactly how it should so that's the exact second opinion I needed. I'll try to get some pics up soon! Once again thank you everyone!! And thanks for answering my questions!
