So far so good with my 2011. Only have 1000 miles on it though. For those who have had issues, when did they start to show? I also discovered that the wheels on the 2011's are made in China!

I bought a 2011 5.0 4/6/2011 and in the first 1500 miles I have had zero problems. The skip-shift feature has never appeared either. The shifts have actually been very precise and easy, especially compared to the 2008 GT I traded in.

A TR6060 would have been great in the GT! And no one, NO ONE can use the lame-*** excuse that a TR6060 would make the GT cost over $40K, because the Camaro SS gets a TR6060 and their prices are still comparable to the Mustang GT.

Yes, you would lose the depth of first gear (2.97:1 1st on TR6060 vs the 3.6:1 1ston the chinese MT82), but to get the exact same total gear ratios (or damn close to it) for each gear of an MT82 coupled with 3.31:1 rear gear, all you have to do is put on 4.10:1 rear gears.

But sacrificing gear ratio is not the point here: The point is you get a tranny capable of taking the power and torque of a Coyote with upgrades (even going blown). And you get proven reliability.

I dont agree with the post about comparing to software development. Alpha is where the core code for an app is written and beta is where problems are flushed out and fixed within the company. All software has bugs. To say that customers are the beta for Ford on this is not comparable. This is more like v1.0. If I had to guess, I'd say that they probably have a QC problem with the Chinese facility. If a few trannies come of the line with defects and are not caught in quality control, this would make some sense. Given the number of people who actually have a problem and those that dont, it's still a small percentage that have complaints. They are valid complaints, but it's not like dealerships have dozens of 5.0's lined up in service getting trannies tweaked. At the end of the day, it'll end up being just like the 2 piece plugs in the 05-07's or the Firestones rolling explorers or ignition control modules on the old Taurus' and Rangers dying at speed from overheating. Now THAT was scary! Driving 70 and your $#*I just all dies at speed. My hope is that Ford does take some quick action on this though because when you're at the top of the hill, everybody wants to knock your keister off of it.

I can see swaps for the TR6060 occurring in the near future for the first couple of years of the 5.0
Once the warranty's out of course...

What have the problems been? I got ticked when I read the Cert of origin stating the Trans was Chinese, I was not happy at all. I work as a Warranty repair/customer service Tech. I know first hand about foreign sourced quality issues.
