Would I be able to get this to work???
I don't see why it wouldn't, not very familiar with programmers though and figured I would ask. I realize that I would have to contact someone (Bama) for tunes for my stang also.

That will work, it isn't just for the GT500 (just his custom tune is for the GT500). I would ask for sure before buying though what he means by it was "uninstalled" - if his car was set back to stock so that this hand held is no longer married to his car, then you will just need to buy some tunes and download them.
His tunes won't work on your car (just take a look at some of the threads where people tried loading other tunes and turned the ECM into a brick)

True, it seems like it's 50/50 whether someone has issues or gets a locked one or gets a good one on the forums with people buying used x3's. Plus I really can't find a way to beat the cai/tuner combo.

IMO...the only time it's worth buying used is if you know the guy your buying it from....buy your tune and install it in the scanner...if it works great and if not he may still have access to his old car and be able to correct the scanner problem....other wise it turns into BS.

Based on the guys feedback, I'd CONSIDER it...but only if I did the transaction via PayPal or something just in case it wasnt unlocked. If not then you are looking at $150 to get it unlocked. I did contact AM about the tunes for life on a used X3 and you can sign up for it but it's an extra $150 bucks. But you'd have tunes for life on that particular car.
If you get rid of your mustang and buy another, even if you've unlocked it...AM/Bama will charge you $150 if you want to transfer to another vehicle regardless if you are the original owner. I found this out when I traded my 06GT for a 10GT. To clarify that statement, that's only if you would not be able to use the tunes with the new model. My 06 tunes were not compatible with the 10 because of changes in the computer, not necessarily the car.
